Academic Planning
Planning is essential to evaluating the quality of academic programs at San Francisco State University. Planning is comprised of four interrelated academic processes:
- Institutional Strategic Planning
- Academic Program Review:
- Academic Program Assessment :
- Discipline Specific Accreditation :
SF State revises its strategic plan every 10 years. The current strategic plan, CUSP II, is intended to guide institutional priorities from 2005 to 2010.
A process to assess the University's academic degree programs during the course of a 'cycle' that lasts approximately six years to complete.
Departmental level assessment strategies are reported to APEE in order to identify and mark progress toward enacting their objectives and goals. This effort is supported by college assessment coordinators.
Academic programs that are accredited by outside agencies prepare and submit accreditation documents which address indicators.
